ESCAPE THE TRAT REGION IN THAILAND

The province of eastern Thailand remains untouched by mass tourism.

Green everywhere, or almost fishing villages and lush islands.

The ferry is approaching the port of Ao Salad, north of Koh Kood, the island still looks like a vegetal mass and wild until a huge golden Buddha comes to break the uniformity of the jungle .

The statue overlooks the fishermen's huts on stilts and, somewhere in the middle, a landing stage.

Koh Kood Island: located in the south-east of Thailand, where it is no more than a strip of land bordering Cambodia, the fourth largest island of the country remains property of nature.

A short flight from Bangkok.

Its main road splits the jungle on the north and west coasts to serve the fishing villages and some resorts scattered along the beaches.

No nightlife but the company of wild animals.

Rivers and waterfalls, beaches. Klong Chao the most famous waterfall accessible by a short marked route that flows into a large natural plunge pool guaranteed!

But back on the continent, in Trat province in the heart of an authentic Thailand or "ancestral".

A Thailand that lives mainly from fishing and fruit picking.

Neighborhood restaurants or renowned chefs, the province is full of places to eat well.

At Koh Kood, let's dine at Benz's, open-air and overwater table, accessible by road or mangrove attached to the very luxurious Soneva Kiri

Let's meet the community Ban Nam Chiao, about ten kilometers southwest of Trat.

village where Thai and Muslim Buddhists live together fishing and ecotourism.

Entanglement of huts and pontoons in the middle of which runs a wide channel.

Temple, mosque, tin roofs and colorful fishing boats.

At dawn, fishermen glide through the mangrove to reach the nearby sea.
