The letters SP correspond to the initials of "Special projects", a division of Ferrari opened in 2007 and which is in its 38th delivery.

The Ferrari SP38 is based on the chassis and mechanics of the 488 GTB but small specificity: the designers have made a body that will allow its only owner to drive in his car.
